THOMAS
Director of Online Research
Laurel monitors
media coverage for Nautilus clients, using an array of state-of-the-art
tools and services to produce monitoring reports of traditional
news and new media coverage, audience size and relative value for
clients using our public relations services. She joined the Nautilus
team in 2002.
Her publicity
and project management skills were honed during her four years in
public office as an elected Board of Education representative in
her home town of Medford Lakes, New Jersey. She had led several
efforts to gain public and community support for the school budget
through public forums, direct mail and presentations. She served
on the Facilities Advisory Committee overseeing school construction
and renovation, and was responsible for gathering public support
for a successful bond referendum through public forums, development
of collateral materials, a letter-writing campaign, and a PowerPoint
presentation. She also led negotiations with the teachers’
union during contract renewals.
Laurel is active
in her community, serving as a Girl Scout leader, church volunteer,
and Home and School Association organizer. She has headed up advertising
and marketing efforts for a range of community and fundraising activities,
including the circus (which she threatened to run away and join).
She lives with her husband and two children on the edge of the Pine
Barrens in southern New Jersey, not too far from the Atlantic ocean.
